1. Once upon a time, there was a little girl who grew up thinking all a woman needed in her life was love and a prince charming and to make a happy family and happily waited for her dreams came true.
2. When she was introduced to her husband-to-be she reconsidered and decided 2/3 wasn't so bad.
3. After the wedding night she started to shoot for 0.5/3.
4. After trying her best at running a house she realized she actually wasn't very talented at it, but made the best of it because by then she'd decided marriage was about compromise.
5. Then she heard how Nerdanel and Eärwen had it and thought maybe she could at least keep up in the child-birthing department.
6. By the time she discovered she was pregnant the fourth time, she gave up trying with Fingolfin altogether, split the house down the middle, watched her soaps in peace, stopped trying to cook, made peace with the nannies and cleaning staff, ordered takeout whenever the kids wanted and just tried to be supportive when Findekáno came home talking about his cousin.
7. She did at least get the mourning part down. Always knew he had it in him.
8. Now, she stops by once a year to fit Fingolfin for new suits and shirts, partly because she can't shake the habit and partly because she doesn't know what else to do with herself.
9. Her fantasy life is as active as it ever was, but now she's figured out how to make it pay the bills and puts stories to paper (under a pseudonym. Who wants that kind of attention?). Apparently there's a wide market.
10. But it really, really is best if both parties are drunk. |
